MATTHEW 26:26-28
26 While they were eating, Jesus took a piece of bread, gave a prayer of thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples. “Take and eat it,” he said; “this is my body.” 27 Then he took a cup, gave thanks to God, and gave it to them. “Drink it, all of you,” he said; 28 “this is my blood, which seals God’s covenant, my blood poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
It is an amazing story, and it is true; Jesus gave all of himself, his life and his death, so that we can be forgiven! Whenever we come to our Lord’s Table and remember his sacrifice for us, we should be filled with wonder and thankfulness. Meditate on the story in Matthew 26:26-28 and the great gift of Jesus given for you.
