So, as I was reading through the book of Isaiah I ran across the below verses in chapter 62:2-4–as God was speaking to (His Bride) Israel. From this, I began thinking of how many women—married or not feel like they’ve lost their “glory—glow”; given away or lost their “name—identity”; no longer feel “beautiful”; have been “forsaken”; who are flat-out “desolate” and unwanted!
Well, as you head into the NEW YEAR—THIS IS WHAT GOD THINKS OF YOU: “The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; and you will be called by a new name which the mouth of the LORD will designate. You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. It will no longer be said to you, “Forsaken,” nor to your land will it any longer be said, “Desolate”; But you will be called, “My delight is in her,” and your land, “Married”; for the LORD delights in you, and to Him your land will be married.”
Hold on to these principles:
- God has renamed you with His own mouth—listen to what HE thinks of you—everything good is captured in your new name!
- Your beauty and royalty are crafted and found in God’s hands—not in what you make yourself up to be or what others make you out to be!
- You will never be called forsaken—He will never abandon you or desolate—He alone completes you!
- You will never again be unwanted—You are His (forever) bride!
All of these wonderful—unchanging promises begin/began when you completely surrender your life to God through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Never forget it—walk in it—live it!
