Cedrick Brown

Lead Pastor of Commitment Church & EFCA East Superintendent

About Cedrick Brown

Cedrick Brown was born and raised the last of eight children in the city of Compton, California which some have labeled the “Gang Capitol of the World”. Here he began to excel in the game of football. The sport became his “way-out”, landing him at Washington State University, where he continued to stand out as a four-year letterman and three-year-starter at defensive back. Cedrick then signed as a free-agent with the Philadelphia Eagles under the legendary Buddy Ryan (1986-1987) while playing with Eagles’ greats like Reggie White, Ron Jaworski, and Randall Cunningham before being called out of the game of football.

Cedrick’s corporate background includes Hotel & Restaurant Management for the Hyatt and Marriot. He spent fifteen years in sales and executive sales management with Alcoa, Inc. where he developed, and lead, award- winning Regional Managers and Sales Managers. Cedrick continues to have the privilege to influence corporations in their organizational integrity and through one-on-one Executive Mentorship.

Cedrick is the Founding/Lead Pastor of Commitment Church, a multiethnic ministry located in Lindenwold, New Jersey since 1996. He serves as the EFCA East District Superintendent of the Evangelical Free Church of America. Pastor Cedrick is the primary teacher on “Commitment to Truth”, a radio ministry heard on AM WFIL Philadelphia, Pandora, and Spotify. He has been privileged to serve on boards, speak at men’s, youth and marriage events; business men’s gatherings, community and charity events, retreats, as well public schools in our area and abroad. He is an accomplished author of multiple books: The Racial and Cultural Divide: Are We Still Prejudiced?; Act Like a Man: Woman, Can You Help Me?; My Daily Business; He Loves Me; Man You Got This!, First Chair; Pause with the Good Shepherd and others.

Cedrick has his Bachelors in Bible and Christian Leadership from Philadelphia Biblical University (now Cairn University), Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Theology from Slidell Baptist Seminary. Above all, Cedrick will always name his greatest achievements as marrying and remaining faithful to his beautiful wife Lisa for over thirty-seven years, and his three wonderful adult children: Joshua, Jessica, and Jaime.
